Name: Kaylee, AKA (TBD)

Age: 24
Height: 5'7"
Hair: Blonde, Pixie undercut, covers severe scarring over left side of head.
Eyes: Greyish-Blue. When channeling techno-magic her eyes turned icy blue
Build: Athletic

Race: Human/Fairy (unknown type) Symbiont
Class: Rogue/Technomancer

Description: Kaylee has a very athletic body from living a life as a member of a wasteland gang of marauders. Her skin is tanned, and her eyes are a greyish blue. She has many tattoos decorating her skin. Left side of her head bears scarring from a major head wound suffered in the past (Spiked club that killed her... But then she got better). She also has severe scarring on the left side of her torso (shrapnel) and her right thigh bears scars from two gunshot wounds. Kaylee has small breasts, and due to a birth mutation, she was born with male genitals.

Faerie Type: Unknown; it ridiculously claims to be a Dragon Spirit. Kaylee is unable to pronounce the Spirit's name as it was given to her, so she's taken to calling it Calliope, after a childhood imaginary friend.

Background: Kaylee was born in a rather typical agricultural enclave in south-western France. From the moment she was born her parents assumed she was a boy due to her having male genitals, but by the time she reached the age of 4 it was clear something was wrong, as she was showing characteristics more common in females. Her parents and the community at large simply encouraged her to be whoever she wanted. It was assumed the male genitals were a part of a genetic mutation caused by ambient radiation caused by the 'Shattering' and subsequent fallout.

Even at that early age, Kaylee showed an aptitude for technology of all types. She understood how mechanical and electronic things worked and was able to jury rig devices, and she knew what scavenged materials were of use and which were in fact useless. By the time she was twelve it was obvious she was indeed a girl, and already she had a reputation for being good with all manner of technology.

The enclave in which she lived was attacked by marauders led by a cruel female warlord, who was quick to kill, destroy and in some cases enslaved those in the village. This wasteland band called themselves the Gypsy Killers, and they wandered the wasteland taking whatever they wanted by force. The matriarch of the band took an instant interest in Kaylee, and adopted her and raised her as her own daughter. In addition to serving as an engineer for the gang, she was taught the arts of stealth and subterfuge, acrobatics and she soon became a rather proficient fighter. While it took some time to get over the loss of her parents, she soon accepted her new life and became as cruel, sadistic and violent as the other Gypsies.

By the time Kaylee was 22, she was more than just the adopted stray of the Gypsies' Matriarch, she was one of the gang's most reliable fighters. She didn't shy away from any task no matter the level of danger. They soon found themselves raiding to the south of what had been the city of Toulouse, in the plains before the Pyrenees when they hit what would prove to be the territory of a powerful Red Wizard who'd been in hiding. The Wizard's strong forces hit back, forcing the group to a strange oasis-style area within the area's wasteland, and there they were attacked and soundly defeated. In the battle, Kaylee was shot twice in the right leg, got hit with a large piece of shrapnel at her left side that left her barely able to move and bleeding severely and finally she was struck in the head by a spiked club, killing her instantly…

But then something otherworldly happened. The oasis was, in fact, connected to the Faerie World. Here the Spirits of faeries who were cut off from their own world during the 'Shattering' existed in a space between worlds… But one such spirit quickly inhabited Kaylee's body, and despite being dead for several minutes, her condition suddenly began to improve. The faerie spirit proceeded to cause her wounds to heal enough after a day for her to move from the oasis, back into the wastes and to the Gypsy camp… Her appearance caused a stir, and she had been checked over and pronounced dead by several of the men who had ultimately escaped the carnage (i.e.: Fled like cowards at the first sign of danger). Those who had seen her broken body immediately began to accuse her of being an undead servant of the Red Wizard, and they attacked her…

Kaylee managed to fight off the initial attack, but it was clear her time with the Gypsies was at an end and she soon fled into the Pyrenees, knowing the gang wouldn't dare pursue her into the mountains. It was several days later when the spirit finally spoke to her, and she realized what had happened. The faerie spirit was good natured, which Kaylee found sickeningly annoying at first. Around this time she began to have the dreams, which the Spirit told her were visions sent by the Faerie Goddess, who had returned her to life to be an angel meant to fight the forces of evil. Kaylee believed the Spirit was bullshitting her into doing her bidding, but as the dreams continued she soon became convinced she'd been chosen for a higher purpose. She'd seen paintings of the 'Shattering' and had seen what those present had called the Halos that had lit up the skies… She began to see the Haloes in her dreams with astounding clarity.

It took her several months of soul searching as she crossed the Pyrenees. By the time she reached the other side she had come to terms with her new life, and the way she and the Faerie Spirit were now in a symbiotic relationship, for better or worse. The Spirit, however, wasn't just an annoying voice inside her head, like a conscience, it was in fact a magical being and Kaylee soon learned to channel some of that magic into the many kinds of technologies still to be found in the world…

The Faerie Spirit has lived inside her for just over two years now. During this time, Kaylee has been working mostly as a Bounty Hunter. She tries to focus on catching the worst of the worst, but she's not against going after the less worst from time to time, for even a Bounty Hunter has bills to pay.

Anariel's Song

(Work in progress)
Tiefling Name: Anariel Makos AKA (Hexblade)
Slave Name: Sylvira
Virtue Name: Defiance
Age: 20 (Free - 3 years)
Height: 5'4
Hair: Snow White
Eyes:
Purple
Build: Lithe
Race: Tiefling
Class: Sorcerer

Description:
Out of all the Tieflings the most striking of the race are the ones with black horns and lilac skin tone. Anariel's body is curvacious and like silk skin, no years of damage were shown as her body remained flawless. Yet her tail was longer than some, it was thicker at the back and had ridges until it reached the midpoint where it became thinner and smooth, and the tip was pointed into a resemblance of a heart.

Background: Anariel Makos was the name she now went by, once she was awakened from the nightmare of servitude. A Tiefling, the Red Wizards cambions, devil-children, titles and insults were common for her kind. But she was not always this way. Anariel had belonged to a simple family. They were elven kin, descendants of Haemir elves, who were once proud and noble in the old world of Avollor before the shattering spread them thin. Leaving small clans to survive and cluster together as they wandered the wastelands.

Many became collectors, preservers of the old ways and finders of lost history. Her parents were the same, they were average in status and helped their humble clan of nomads who lived out of ruins or small caravans. Staying mostly in Germany or what was left of the country. Since the world changed the country was named Corris after the majority of the remaining elven population inhabited it and drove out the orcs from the area, led by the elven warrior Corris Moonstrider.

After the battle of Copenhagen, clans were in disarray and most bloodlines were lost. Those who remained became nomadic searching for remnants of the past to feel connected to their lost world.

Anariel whose elven name was lost upon the tragedy of her being taken by the servants of a Red Wizard called Ramiel, his small host of Tieflings, the elves call Cambions. Half-devil children. spirited three daughters from the clan as they ventured too far into a set of ruins, allowing curiosity to be their downfall. Only to find evil lurking in the shadows as they were snatched away at a young age.

The clan searched for them, years her mother and father tried to find their lost daughters when all they could find was a piece of torn clothing belonging to Anariel. In their grief, they separated from the clan and went to live in the neutral city of Nevarra years after it was established. And they began a new life...working for a cartel.

Anariel's story had just begun...

Upon her being taken she was presented before Ramiel and introduced to a world of agony. The transformation took a year to complete, as they used an old artefact the Red Wizards had remade. They called it the Sphinx. A sarcophagus where a living body is placed inside and evil is pumped into her veins, unspoken magic from a dark realm that only the Red Wizards knew to tap into. Her body broke, her skin burned and her eyes felt like daggers piercing into her skull. All Tieflings went through the pain, unable to escape. Until the metamorphosis was finished they were bound to their master's will to commit atrocities in their name.

For years she was forced to murder, kidnap, and destroy using her warped magic against innocent families like she once belonged to. Until the day came of her awakening, Ramiel had grown weak, his lifeforce was lesser after The Shattering. And he like the others were still hunted, not by humans or elves, but by those who were once slaves to them, and then freed upon the deaths of their masters. The Shattering allowed Tieflings to flee, the strong minds survived and their anger could not be quenched.

The Red Wizard's greatest enemy was the first Tieflings to be born.

The Faerie Realms of Avollor (Work in progress)

Even in the world of Avollor, the faeries were few in numbers, dwelling in small, remote enchanted groves, mostly in peace, but some of the more mischievous fairies had a knack for venturing forth into the world, often making a nuisance of themselves, though in some cases their presence has proven to be beneficial to those they befriended.

The Faerie Realm itself is a vast, colourful landscape filled with wonder.

There is no one specific type of faerie, rather the term refers to a large number of magical creatures that dwell within the Faerie Realm, which connects to the World Avollor via a number of small portals. Common features of faeries is their diminutive size and their ability to manipulate the world's magical energies, in performing feats as varied as the many types of faeries themselves. Some faeries are humanoid in appearance while others are more animalistic or beastly and some are even capable of shapeshifting into multiple forms.

After the Shattering

When the Shattering happened, and the worlds collided, no realm survived intact, and this included the Faerie Realm, which some might say suffered worse than most. The connection between Avollor and the Faerie Realm was sundered, preventing those faeries in Avallor from ever returning home to their people. Some of the surviving faeries have even come to believe the Faerie Realm was not only sundered, but destroyed, that it no longer exists.

With connection with their realm severed, the survivors took spirit form, as they were now unable to tackle corporeal form on the Wasted Earth, the term given to the new combined and shattered realms of Earth and Avollor. Those few surviving faeries are tied to one of the few remote groves forced to remain there in ethereal and spirit forms. On a few occasions, some of these faerie spirits have managed to enter a sentient host and form a symbiotic relationship, usually for mutual benefit and survival.

Glossary of World Specific Terms:

Avollor: A fantasy realm of great magic and mysticism. A world dominated by a group called the Red Wizards, with all the usual fantasy races, such as elves, dwarves, halflings and orc-kind and magical beasts, such as dragons and wyverns.

The Shattering: A cataclysmic event initiated by the Red Wizards during the Great War of Avollor. The Red Wizards tapped into ancient magics which created dimensional rifts between the World of Avollor and the planet Earth.

Pre-Shattering Earth: The year was 2025, and the world was completely unsuspecting as to what was coming. There were plenty of conflicts, with the major powers ramping up weapons production for the Cold War that was suspected to come, but never did… The chaos that was created by the Shattering put some nations in panic mode, some, who feared the Shattering was caused by their enemies decided to launch a First Strike which only led to further chaos and world destruction.

Post-Shattering Earth: It's been over 200 years since the Shattering that changed the planet forever. The wastelands of Avollor along with fallout of a nuclear disaster had rendered much of the earth a dry uninhabitable wasteland. Multiple enclaves have been built in the areas that retain enough moisture for agriculture to be possible. The glaciers from the areas near the Poles have begun to slowly expand, as have the world's dry, arid deserts. The skeletons of ancient cities dot the landscape and a few larger cities are inhabited again, though populations remain a fraction of what it used to be. The map of Wasted Earth remains mostly the same as pre-Shattering earth.

TimeScape Events: The fabric between worlds was not the only thing that was torn, but certain aspects of Time were also disrupted. While these forays in time were extremely rare, and to most people they remain unknown there is a chance of making strange discoveries, not from other worlds, but of other times… These discoveries tend to be more evident closer to the specific rifts between worlds.

The people of Wasted Earth: While humans remain the most numerous, they are no longer the only species of intelligent life upon the planet. The fantasy races of Avollor have crossed over, so elves, orcs, dwarves and a great number of other races have settled Wasted Earth. In addition, the radiation and Shattering has caused many different kinds of mutations amongst the inhabitants of Earth, particularly in the humans.

Creatures and Monsters: Many types of creatures inhabit the Earth. Certainly all the animals that called the planet home remain, but many have mutated into vile beasts and near mindless predators. Many creatures and monsters from Avollor have also made the crossing during the Shattering. Fantasy creatures and beasts now call Wasted Earth home, including various types of dragons.
